Serious cough that is LOUD-:wave: My boyfriend and I both

To answer you question no :wave: My boyfriend and I both had colds approx. 2 months ago, but we still have a cough that is deep, loud, and cracks. Also, mucas from cough is a greenish-brown, but is decreasing in volume of size. My boyfriend also has a taste of chlorine or household cleanser in his mouth for a few days now. We are both smokers, and used to smoke meth., and in our early 50's. Has anyone ever heard of a cough lasting this long after a cold? :wave: ||| To answer you question no ||| yes I have had a bad cough last for months after having a cold. As long as it seems to be getting better you should be all right. If it gets worse or you develop a fever or chest pain or night sweats you should see a doctor. I work in a hospital. ||| Adults whose vaccinations have worn off can also get pertussis/whooping cough and this can last for quite some time. I don't know how contagious it is and in what stages, but it's worth looking up the info on it and see if it fits. I have been told by docs that in healthy people/adults, it's usually not a threat, but it can last for what seems like an eternity. ||| If a cold with a cough persits more then 10 days usually you go to the doctors.Its often turned into bronchitus and you need a antibiotic! If left untreated next it will be pneaumonia
